An exhortation to pray always… in all circumstances
Serving for God’s Glory1 Peter 4:7-8
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore, be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
When He came to the place, He said to them, Pray that you may not enter into temptation.
Praying in God's willJohn 14:13-14
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
1 John 3:21-22
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.
Praying in the Spirit
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
1 Corinthians 14:15
What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Pray for everyone
1 Timothy 2:1-4
Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:8
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
Praying in confidence
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
Hindered Prayers1 Peter 3:7
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
Confessing sin1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
