Courses offered for the 2025-2026 Adult evening classes

Israel Class

Israel: Abraham to Today

Mondays from  5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Start date: Monday, September 8, 2025

Instructor: Pastor Kon

God’s faithfulness to Israel is a testimony to His unconditional love for His chosen people.

Israel’s storyline begins in Genesis 12 with God’s promise to make Abraham a great nation. To this day, His hand continues to guide and protect the Jewish people!

This fall we will embark on a sweeping journey through Israel’s rich history, its modern-day influence, and the future promised to the Jewish people. The expected results of this class:

1. To learn the geography and topography of the Promised Land…to help us to better understand the narrative of the Bible.

2. To become acquainted with the people, customs, & events of the Old Testament…to bring us a familiarity with the Biblical foundation of the New Testament.

3. To discover the depth of God’s continuous love for Israel…to reveal God’s miraculous interventions throughout their existence.

4. To see God working in the lives of the Jewish people from AD 70 to the present…to review the events surrounding the ‘birth’ of Israel as a nation in 1948.

5. To enhance our appreciation for Israel…to elevate our awareness of God’s love for all His people (including us!).

Church History Class

Church History

Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Start Date: Wednesday, September 3, 2025

Instructor: Sandy

Church History has become a favorite at Washed by the Word. Sandy will take you on an enlightening, sobering, and sometimes humorous journey following the church’s historical path starting with the disciples and the early church fathers, continuing through the Middle Ages, the Reformation, the Renaissance, and the opening of the Asian, African and American contents to Christianity. She finishes up with what God is doing today throughout the world. This course will give insight into how other religions and Christian denominations came into being and will provide you with an understanding of others’ beliefs which can aid in reaching others for Christ.

New Testament Survey

New Testament Survey

Tuesday Evenings at 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Start Date: September 2, 2025

Instructor: Pastor Gil

As we survey each of the books in the New Testament, you will obtain a familiarity with the Word of God and you will gain an understanding of who the Lord used in writing each book, to whom the book was originally written, and why it is written. We will take a “bird’s eye” view of the themes and purposes of all the books in the New Testament.
